Shannon Brownlee, M.S., Acting Director Health Policy, New America Foundation, Author of "Overtreated: Why Too Much Medicine is Making Us Sicker and Poorer"

Educational Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, attendees should be able to:
1. Understand and describe the link between practice patterns, utilization, and supply of resources
2. Recognize the need for shared decision making and understand the distinction between informed consent and informed patient choice
3. Identify concrete steps to be taken to control health care spending through constraining supply and implementing shared decision making.
